Community Partnerships

F.J. Rutland prides itself on making positive connections in the community. Our students, staff, and families have a history of actively interacting with others to make Chippawa and surrounding areas a better place to live.

Some examples of our initiatives are raising food for Project Share, collecting pet items for the Humane Society, raising money for the Terry Fox Foundation, and collecting toys for children at Christmas time. Our students have helped to run events for the younger students at River View School and have performed as a choir at the Bella Senior Residence. Our school has hosted Citizenship Court to help celebrate the process of becoming Canadian. We have helped as volunteers at the Niagara Falls marathon, presented wreaths at Veteran Day ceremonies, and participated in local fire safety poster contests. Our School won the first place award for having the highest level of participation at the annual DSBN Road Race.

Many of our graduates who now attend Stamford have carried on the tradition of giving back to our community by doing volunteer work in our school.
